    Why Mouse Control Matters

House mice are among the most common pests in Texas, and they adapt quickly to human environments. Once inside, they reproduce rapidly, making early detection and professional mouse pest control critical. Left untreated, mice can:

    • Contaminate food and surfaces with droppings and urine
    • Spread dangerous diseases like Salmonella and hantavirus
    • Cause fire hazards by chewing on electrical wiring
    • Damage insulation, furniture, and stored belongings

Our specialized house mice control services are designed to eliminate current infestations and stop future ones before they start.

    Signs You Need Mice Control

Not sure if you’re dealing with a mouse problem? Here are some of the most common signs of an infestation:

    • Droppings near food, in cabinets, or along baseboards
    • Gnaw marks on wood, wires, or packaging
    • Scratching or scurrying sounds in walls or ceilings
    • Nests made of shredded paper, fabric, or insulation
    • A musky odor coming from hidden areas

If you notice any of these warning signs, it’s time to call a professional mice exterminator.

    Our Mouse Pest Control Process

At Alamo Pest Control, we take a thorough, multi-step approach to ensure complete rodent removal and long-term protection. Our mouse control process includes:

    1. Inspection & Identification – We carefully inspect your property to find entry points, nests, and signs of mouse activity.
    2. Targeted Treatment – Our team utilizes effective methods to eliminate mice, tailored to your specific situation.
    3. Exclusion Inspection – We offer a free rodent exclusion inspection to identify all of the entry points, and once the rodents are under control we recommend a rodent exclusion service to seal them up.
    4. Clean-Up – During a rodent exclusion, we can also clean up droppings and nesting material for an extra fee.

With Alamo’s mice control methods, you can rest assured that your home will be fully protected.

I usually don't write reviews UNLESS the service is exceptional...today I experienced exceptional service with Alamo. What made it so was working with my technician Jay. He is knowledgeable, on-time, and most importantly he is personable.

Alamo should hire 50 more of him or try to clone him. 😊

I will be recommending Alamo to family and friends...I will also tell them to ask for Jay to be their tech.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How can I tell it’s mice and not something else?

Mouse droppings are small — roughly the size of a grain of rice — and tend to show up along baseboards, inside cabinets, or near food packaging. You may also notice gnaw marks on cardboard or plastic, greasy rub marks where mice repeatedly travel along the same wall, or nests made of shredded paper or fabric tucked into hidden corners.

Mice breed quickly. Per the Merck Veterinary Manual, a female mouse has a gestation period of roughly 19 to 21 days and can produce litters of around 5 to 12 pups, with a new litter possible every three to five weeks under the right conditions. That means a couple of mice you spot today can realistically become a much larger population within a few months if the entry point stays open.

Mice can squeeze through openings as small as a quarter inch — about the width of a pencil — because their skeletons are flexible enough to compress through any gap their skull can fit through. That includes small gaps around utility lines, foundation vents, or door thresholds that are easy to miss during a casual walk-around.

Our process starts with an inspection to look for nests and signs of activity, followed by targeted treatment to eliminate the mice present, with guidance on cleaning up droppings and nesting material safely. We also offer a free rodent exclusion inspection to identify all of the entry points, and once the mice are under control, it’s a good idea to consider a rodent exclusion service to seal them up so they don’t get back in.

Mouse droppings and urine can contaminate food and kitchen surfaces, and according to the American Lung Association, exposure to rodent allergens is a well-established asthma trigger — indoor rodent infestations have consistently been shown to worsen asthma, particularly in children. That risk exists even without a visible infestation, since allergen can linger in dust after mice are gone.

Because mice are opportunistic — as long as an opening exists, mice from the surrounding area will keep finding it, even after an active infestation is cleared. Sealing the specific gaps mice are using is what keeps a resolved problem from becoming a repeat one, and we offer that as a separate rodent exclusion service.
